Expandir RAID 5 controlador Array B140i

Estimad@,

Expand RAID 5 controller Array B140i
Dear,

I currently have a ProLiant DL120 Gen9 Dynamic Smart Array B140i Controller and I need to add 1 additional disk to expand the current RAID 5, since it is running out of space. I read the technical documentation for the controller but it does not indicate anywhere if it can be expanded or not.

I would appreciate if someone who has done this can confirm for me if it can or not, since I need to confirm this with our client.

Re: Expandir RAID 5 controlador Array B140i

Hi,

Please refer to the QuickSpecs, page# 6
B140i provides support for up to 8 SATA drives and supports RAID 0, 1, 1+0 & 5.

According to the user guide on page# 20-21, You can add hard drives to a system at any time if you do not exceed the maximum number of drives that
the controller supports.

NOTE: It’s important to keep data backup before performing this activity.
Data integrity is customer responsibility. HPE recommends having data backup frequently and before performing any activity so that it can be restored during disaster recovery.
