Firmware update failed
This is a brand new HPE Proliant ML350 Gen10 P/D P11053-001
I mounted the firmware update ISO (P19473_001_spp-2019.09.0-SPP2019090.2019_0905.39.iso) to a USB thumbdrive and booted from it. It reached the question asking automatic or interactive update and I chose automatic.
I got message:
Starting initrd...
Warning !!! Unable to mount the file system [cdrom]
Warning !!! Unable to mount the file system
Preboot maintenance mode
/bin/ash: can't accesstty: job control turned off
#
I am stuck here.
The firmware updates also fail from within Intelligent Provisioning. with message "Error: unexpectedly disconnected from boot status daemon.
Then Error: Invalid cluster:0
There is no way to update firmware.

Re: Firmware update failed
Yes, I checked the MD5 Checksum
The UEFI image boots ok from the thumb drive. The program launches. It only fails on execution of the firmware update.

Re: Firmware update failed
This is still before the update.
Do you have the advanced ILO license installed?
However, SPP 2019.09 has likely older firmware than your system.
Wait a day or two, get SPP2019.12, create an USB stick, boot from and select interactive.
What tool did you use to create the USB drive?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Firmware update failed
I have exactly the same "Error unexpectedly disconnected from boot status daemon?" after auto-update of firmware direct from HP, (without the cluster errors)
Sounds like a regression error, any suggestions gratefully accepted

Re: Firmware update failed
I believe that newer versions of the SPP Service Pack for ProLiant .iso's are license key protected. They .iso will boot busybox, but the media cannot be decrypted and mounted without HPE providing a license key and without the license key being merged into the .iso.
Since this is an offline installation and I run Linux, I would like to know of an open source application that I could use to integrate our license into the SPP .iso so that it can run.
