Hardware Monitoring on DL380 G4 server and Oracle VM Server
We have decided to test out Oracle VM and have installed Oracle VM Server 3.0.2 one of our DL380 G4's.
Prior to Oracle VM we had Redhat 4.4 on this server and all of the Insight Manager Homepage agents this would monitor issues and email us if there was a problem (for example if a Power Supply went down or a RAM DIMM was defective).
We can not seem to install any of the agents into Oracle VM 3.0.2 as you do not have the necessary RPM's installed to do the compilation.
I see that iLO has some monitoring capabilities and can monitor certain things, but I am not sure of what capibilities it has.
Has anyone come up with a solution to monitor the hardware in an HP server that is running Oracle VM 3.0? It does not necessarily have to be a DL 380 but any of the DL line would be useful as I am most familiar with these servers.
