Hi everyone,
Has anyone noticed that Intelligent Provisioning 1.74.2 produces false memory diagnostic results while the previous 1.6x passed the memory tests?
I'm observing this on ProLiant ML350p Gen8 series - totally rabdomly I decided to run Insight Diagnostics tests following an IP routine upgrade and suddenly memory test is failing.
The next ProLiant ML350p Gen8 which was slated for the same routine IP upgrade I ran the same test BEFORE the upgrade - passed as expected, however once upgraded to 1.74.2 the very same test failed? Needless to say both servers are production runs and exibit zero memory issues so this failure is false indication?
What gives?

SolutionHi
If the memory tests fail in HPE Insight Diagnostics from the F10 (HPE Intelligent Provisioning), the failures are false and can be safely ignored. ProLiant Gen9 series servers can upgrade to Intelligent Provisioning 2.70 or run Insight Diagnostics from the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) Version 2017.04.0 to test memory.
To find the actual memory status as described above, run the Insight Diagnostics from the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) Version 2017.04.0 to test memory. The SPP is available at the following URL: http://h17007.www1.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/products/service_pack/spp/
For ProLiant Gen8 servers, a workaround solution is to run Insight Diagnostics offline from booted current Post-Production Gen8 SPP ISO (P03093_001_spp-Gen8.1-SPPGen81.4.ISO) mounted via ILO IRC Virtual Drives.
For more information please refer below customer advisory
HPE Insight Diagnostics - False Memory Failures May Be Reported When Running Insight Diagnostics Full Memory Test or Select Custom Memory Tests Through HPE Intelligent Provisioning 1.70, 2.60 or 2.61
