I have 300GB HP SAS HDDs Model EG0300FCVBF P/N 693569-001 on my DL-380G8 server.
They have a different GPN code: 507129-004 and 652566-001.
What does GPN mean?
I find refurbished discs with the code 652564-B21, which on this HPE page I find them always associated with 693569-001.
I would like to know if they are okay and if I can insert them together with the others.
Can I use one of these discs in place of an EGO300FAWHV P/N 507119-004?
I see the caddy is different, but can I always just replace this one?
Thanks in advance.

Front of caddy did you check any spare#
Not sure, GPN means Gateway Part Number
I suggest that you give them the regular part number or a description (capacity, RPM, model number) and let them figure it out. Spare part numbers can change over time and the label on the disk might be outdated.

SolutionHi GioSomma,
In my openion, you can use these disks if they are of same spart part numbers as the ones installed on the server.
You may use this website to enter the option part number (which is 652564-B21 in this case) to find out the spare part number of the drive: https://partsurfer.hpe.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=652564-B21
Hope it Helps!

Re: HDDs for DL-380G8. What differences? What is GPN?
The Part Description are the same: "300GB hot-plug dual-port SAS hard disk drive - 6Gb / sec transfer rate, 10,000 RPM, 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF), Enterprise, SmartDrive Carrier (SC) - Not for use in MSA products - For use with Gen8 / Gen9 or newer ".
Except for two that simply say "DRV, HD 300G SAS 2.5 10k 6Gb-SGT", but it seems to me that it matches the extended description above.
I don't see any reference to Spare # on the labels and I still don't understand what is. "Gateway Part Number"
