Re: Help me locate my drive in Windows?

Right click on 'My Computer' icon on your desktop, choose 'Manage'

In 'Computer Management' window in a left-hand pane expand 'Storage' (if not already expanded) using '+' icon.

Click on 'Disk Management' & you should be fine!

Rgds.

Array could be A windows D or E so could Array C, as array A has 2 physical drives that are raid 1..... in windows D and E are the same size....there must be a way to link them up?

I see "OS name" on all our servers (ML370, DL380, Proliant 1600,...) and for both windows 2000/windows 2003.
What you see in "OS name" ?
Can you post printscreen?

P.S. Just to clarify: we are talking about system management homepage, not Array configuration utility, right ?

Re: Help me locate my drive in Windows?

Dave,
which Proliant support pack version you use?
(we use PSP 7.40)
Probably in older PSP versions "OS name" is missing...

Re: Help me locate my drive in Windows?

Yes it looks like I have some older versions than this and they need to be updated, please tell me this, what is the best way to install the PSP, complete? as some people seen to say different.

Our server were built by scripts, I noticed that some of the things were missing, I noticed that when I went to Install some of the updates, it said that it could not continue, as the system management homepage service was not running, so I installed this. The problem is now is that it has now overwritten all my logon settings, we just use basic admin admin to logon. We rename all our windows administrator accounts like most do.

So the 2 things I ask is, how do I reset to let me logon to the home page with admin rights, and the user name ADMIN.

And the best way to install the full pack.

Thank you for being so patient

Re: Help me locate my drive in Windows?

>>And the best way to install the full pack.

Download last PSP here
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23301.html
unpack files, and run setup.exe from local or remote server.
"Note: Even when selected, only software that is appropriate for the system it is being run on will actually be installed. After installation of the appropriate software, the utility will display its results, including indication of software successfully installed, software not needed for the current system configuration, and any installation failures"

If you use HP systems insight manager you can push PSP installation for multiple servers from HPSIM console

You can read
"HP ProLiant Support Pack and Deployment Utilities User Guide" as well
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/WebDoc/750/psp-users-guide.pdf

Optionally you can do component preconfiguration (see page 15 of the guide)

Note that PSP package is different for windows 2000 and windows 2003 (if you still have windows 2000 servers)

>>>how do I reset to let me logon to the home page
In PSP 7.10 and earlier you need admin/operator/user account in order to login to system management homepage.
In PSP 7.20 and later system management homepage uses operating system-based authentication and accepts logins from
local administrative accounts by default.
Therefore with upgrading to PSP 7.50 you will be able to use OS accounts to login.

Re: Help me locate my drive in Windows?

Hello, ok I went in to home page and Logged on with the local Admin account that we re name, the problem is for the home page we always have had ours setup to logon with the username ADMIN and the Password ADMIN, this is how we have them all, so how do I add this username and password to the homepage loggon? I can see no where for passwords. the username admin is not a local windows account on our servers. so how is this added to the homepage, and where do you set the password.

Re: Help me locate my drive in Windows?

Dave,
I don't understand:
is "admin" is Operation system user?
If answer is yes - you must set password for this user with OS tools (user manager).
If "admin" is user you created for OLD proliant support pack - you just don't need this user at all, new PSP uses only operating system-based authentication. All
local administrative accounts accepted by default. If you want to add new user you must to create this user with OS tools and go to system management homepage->settings-security->user groups

Re: Help me locate my drive in Windows?

Nope. we logon to all our managment homepages with the account Admin and the password Admin, there is nowhere in windows that we have an account of group called this.

100 percent, so what else could it be? very strange? maybe you can dig something up as I have looked around and not found anything.

there must be somewhere else that hold passwords?

Re: Help me locate my drive in Windows?

Dave,
I hope you already installed PSP 7.50 ?
In this PSP you must login to system management homepage WITH OPERATION SYSTEM USERNAME/PASSWORD.
Try login with local admninistrator account.
FORGET "account Admin and the password Admin" - you don't need it for newest PSP.

>>there must be somewhere else that hold passwords?
Old system management password stored in c:\compaq\wbem\cpqhmmd.acl file:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=844918
but you don't need it, anyway you must to upgrade to newest PSP in order to see "OS name" - we started from this point, right ?

Re: Help me locate my drive in Windows?

Dave,

I am sorry for any inconvenience you get from my answers :-(

I have seen "NIC disabled" problem after PSP installation and only way I found to repair it - uninstall NIC from device manager, restart server (NIC will be installed automatically), redefine TCP/IP properties.

Anyway, early or late, you need to install new versions of PSP.....

Any chance to proxy settings in IE is problem ?

Go to system management homepage->Settings->Security and check IP restrictions.
Set "Trust all" option for test purpose.
