High Rate of Power Supply failure for DL380 G5



We are experiencing a high rate of power supply failures for our DL380 G5 servers.
Does anybody know if there has been a “bad run” for this make and model of server?
Perhaps HP contracted a faulty power supply manufacturer?
They have been replacing our parts with out much resistance where in the past I have been told to walk threw some basic trouble shooting steps. Reseating etc.

This is telling me HP knows something is wrong on a broader scale. Can anybody confirm my suspicions?

Well... search these forums and you'll see that it's a known problem. DL580 G5, ML350 G5, ML370 G5, and DL385 G2, all use the same (often faulty) power supply.

well Dl580 G5 is another type of power supply not the same as Dl380 G5...

Yes, yes, I meant DL380 G5, the server that started the thread.
