How does SUM install a firmware package that was removed from a SPP image?

SUM won't install a manually added firmware package to Service Pack for ProLiant ISO.

SPP 2020.03.0 ISO was copied to USB using HPE USB Key Utility and a more recent System ROM flash package U30_2.34_04_08_2020.fwpkg was copied to the "packages" directory. U30_2.32_03_09_2020.fwpkg was removed.

When SUM 8.5.0(A) is finished running the System BIOS shows it was updated from version 2.14 to version 2.32, not version 2.34.

It's not a show stopper because I can update the firmware from System Utilities using the binary file but I'm trying to understand how a removed firmware package still happened to be installed.

Hello,

Good day,

Please try to do freshly once again by downloading SPP 2020.03.0 ISO.. if issue still persist, please elevate a case to  HPE . It might need to check this in  HPE LAB.

I am an HPE Engineer.

Probably SUM just used to install the *.rpm file.

Hope this helps!
