How to Boot from USB Flash Drive
I have recently acquired an HP ProLiant DL380 G6 Server. I'm attempting to make it into a NAS by using TrueNas Scale, but when adding the USB drive to one of the USB ports, even though it's a bootable drive, as I've flashed it recently. I've gone into the BIOS and set booting to USB to no avail.
Is there something I'm doing wrong or something that can fix this?
Also, a general question: the System Maintenance Switch should have none set to on Correct? Mine came with 8 set to on, but I can't seem to figure out what 8 is for. (I have flipped it on and off and attempted booting from USB, but to no avail.)
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Re: How to Boot from USB Flash Drive
Hi @Coleman910 ,
Try to use the tools RUFUS / UNetbootin to create Bootable USB.
Better to use MBR or FAT write type while creating.
This is the DP switch settings from Server's user guide.

Re: How to Boot from USB Flash Drive
Hi Coleman910,
The Gen6 has not UEFI boot, then you must create a USB key with Legacy BIOS (not GPT in Rufus).
Bye!
