I have a DL160 G10. You cant hear the fans when idle, but as soon as you do anything on the server the fans start saying hello.
Windows Server 2019 is runnning on that server. I've updated everything I could (BIOS, ILO, drivers etc) but nothing helps.
It is enough to open a control panel and the fans audibly increase in speed. God forbid I start a virtual machine in Hyper, the fans go crazy.
I've checked ILO logs for signs of overheating but everything checks out. There are other (older) HP servers in the same rack doing much heavier stuff however they are completely quiet.
This DL 160 G10 is otherwise completely functional, but the fans are driving me crazy.
Any ideas ?

Re: HP DL 160 G10 - high fan noise
hello
Thanks for you reply. In the meantime, I managed to find a few other threads dealing with this same issue for Gen 10 and Gen11 servers
and the only thing that helped was the cp061308.exe - Agentless Management Service for Microsoft Windows x64.
This is what you suggest as well.
Only after installing that, did the fan noise reduce to normal.
