Hello,
I've installed WS2008 R2 on a HP DL140 G3 (with 2x E5345) and experiencing problems when restarting from windows. It looks like shutdown will happen, only the server freezes at the last step: "Shutting down". It's like the motherboard doesn't receive the 'restart' command. Shutdown from windows works fine.
Any ideas anyone?

Re: HP DL140 G3 freezes on restart
Hi,
First, this server does not support Windows 2008 R2.
Now coming to the issue, this could happen due to various reasons and mostly related to OS or Applications installed.
This issue could occur because of any Antivirus software, Roxio Easy CD Creator or even chipset drivers of the server.
Try to boot the server into Safe Mode then once it boots completely, try to restart, if this works, it means that some application or driver that loads in Normal mode could be causing the problem.
If this dosent work then see if Microsoft has any fixes like Patch or SP.
Thank You!
