HP DL380 server with p400 storage controller not bootable

hello experts:

i bought a HP DL380 server that somehow not bootable. i have tried windows 2008 server, ubuntu server, result is the same. it doesn't have any issues to install software until rebooted. it keep cycling and not able to find boot sectors. i moved the hard drives to my friend's HP server, it boots fine, not issue at all. my friend thought it could be an issue of p400 stroage controller and reset it, but still not working. he ever later broght a CD and refreshed firmware, still no effects.

could any expert here provide some adive to fix this?

here is what i see from the screen:

Slot 3 HP Smart Array P400 Controller          (512M, v7.22)
**** Boot Logical Drive is configured but is missing or Offline****

the question is: how could i fix this?

You need to access the RAID utility and set which logical drive to use for boot
