Hello,
I upgraded an HP DL580 Gen9 from 1 TB RAM to 4 TB RAM.
All RAM modules are LRDIMMs with a capacity of 64 GB.
The modules of the first 1 TB are recognized as HPE SmartMemory and displayed in iLO4 (Part Number: 809085-091).
For the new modules (Part Number: 809085-391), no Part Number is displayed in iLO4 ("N/A") and the status for HPE SmartMemory is "No".
Which software component needs to be updated to recognize the new LRDIMMs as "HPE SmartMemory" correctly?
Thank you for your support!

SolutionHi,
From what I did the research on, the new DIMMs are not compatible with this Gen9 server.
What you already had is this, 809085-091, 805358-B21, HPE 64GB (1x64GB) Quad Rank x4 DDR4-2400 CAS-17-17-17 Load Reduced Memory Kit
What you installed newly is this, 809085-391, H7B83A, 64GB PC4-2400T-L, load reduced (LRDIMM) synchronous dynamic random access memory(SDRAM), dual data rate (DDR4) mode, organized as 8Gx72
The new DIMMs are for Superdome X server.

Re: HP DL580 Gen9: LRDIMMs (809085-391) not recognized as SmartMemory
Does this mean that the new modules (809085-391) are incompatible with an HP DL580 Gen9, or does the server only not recognize this LRDIMM model and therefore cannot correctly identify it as "HPE SmartMemory" and display it accordingly in iLO4?
