HP DL60 Gen9 Controller Options

Hi,

We recently purchased a DL60 Gen9 server (Code: 788079-425 HP DL60 Gen9 E5-2603v3 NHP Eu Svr/GO). However the disk performance of the server under VMware is very very slow. The server has 4 SATA drives configured as RAID 5. My question is can I install an HP Smart Array P440 controller in the server for use with the installed SATA drives? My dealer says the controller is incompatible with the server but HP lists it as an option.

Yes, the P440 is a supported controller in the DL60, The quickspecs show you will need the following

HP Smart Array P440/2GB FBWC 12Gb 1-port Int SAS Controller 820834-B21
NOTE: Includes the HPE Smart Storage Battery.
HP DL60/120 Gen9 4LFF Smart Array P440 SAS Cable Kit 777382-B21
