Now windows loads and does the usual thing where the writing on the bottom goes through, then it gets to starting windows then blue screens with error code 0x0000007b which is "inaccessable boot device" now im thinking that the usb cd drive does work with the windows installer??
Anyone can help me with this proplem?

Re: HP Proliant DL 160 G5 BSOD While installing OS
several questions
which controller server has? embedded SATA?
which OS? W2003 - W2008?
which driver are you using?
now recommendations
- 5 GB RAM? can you try reducing you amount of memory
- servar has latest System ROM
2008.04.09 (A) (18 Apr 2008)?
regards

Solutionwell LSI logic
I think you should try this driver
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=3580694&prodNameId=3580695&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-54acb37beff04f1b97ec1b7792
using either a USB floppy drive or nlite(in case you don't usb floppy drive, http://www.nliteos.com/nlite.html)
