Hi I have been looking to upgrade my ram on the home server which currently only has 8GB and had looked to upgrade it to 32gb. I looked at a few modules but the 2 x 16GB modules installed the server powers on as normal bur nothing wont boot.
When I checked the RAM its PC4 2400T RE1-11 but when chech the RAM currently is PC4 2400T ED1-11 should it need to be this or should it work?
Thanks

Re: HP proliant Gen10 Server RAM upgrade
You should check which CPU current your system use.
For E-2100 or E-2200 with DL20 , it need ECC only DDR4, so the label will be ED1,ED2 or EE1
For other higher model of DL Gen10 like DL380,360 , it request REG-ECC , as RD momery.
They are not same mode , couldn't use together or switch.

Re: HP proliant Gen10 Server RAM upgrade
What is the difference between ED1,ED2 or EE1 and RD1? All are ECC to my knowledge.
