HP Proliant ML350
I'm trying to connect a new external USB Hard-drive (seagate ST310005FDA1E1-RK 1TB 7200 RPM USB 2.0) on windows server 2003 (all updates are installed from microsoft).
after i connect the cable, i got an error message saying:
"No HI-SPEED USB host controllers installed"
What can i do? The hard-drive is working great on another PC (with XP).
Thanks

Re: HP Proliant ML350
hi
even this message it's working or not?
"No HI-SPEED USB host controllers installed"
this is because you got USB version 1 in that server and the HDD is version 2 it will work but at less speed
nothing to do unless you get a USB 2.0 PCI Card
regards

Re: HP Proliant ML350
Karlo, thanks for your quick response.
No, after i got that error message, no drivers are installed and windows can't see the hard-drive...so...is not working at any speed hi or low.
Are you sure that if i buy a new PCI card USB 2.0, it will work?
Do i have a an PCI slot on that server? (i think is generation G3)
thanks again
