HP ProLiant Smart Array Device Manager Extension Problems
Whenever we install the latest 8.40 agents, it fails on HP ProLiant Smart Array P700m Clustering Support Software
for Windows. The installed version is 1.3.0.0. When we try to install the latest version, which is 2.0.2.0, we get an error message saying
Severity Informational
Task ID VCA1273671153
Date / Time 12/05/2010 14:32:49
Message Smart Component, cp012775.exe, returned result code 3, no action taken.
Additional Data
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Setup Session Beginning 12/05/2010 - 14:32:46
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Command Line Parameters Given: /silent
Name: HP ProLiant Smart Array P700m Clustering Support Software
for Windows
New Version: 2.0.2.0
Beginning Silent Session...
The software is currently installed, but does not need to be installed on
this system.
Current Version: 1.3.0.0
Installation will not continue.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
End Session
Is there a way to uninstall this from our servers, as its flagging most of them up as being out of date
for Windows. The installed version is 1.3.0.0. When we try to install the latest version, which is 2.0.2.0, we get an error message saying

Re: HP ProLiant Smart Array Device Manager Extension Problems
Hello Tom,
I've the same issue as you on all my Proliant G6 servers. It's cp012775.exe
I think it's a software mistake from HP because if you click 1.3.0 on VCA it displays another patch description: "HP ProLiant PCI-express Power Management Update for Windows"
In add/remove programs i've this patch as installed. cpP010920.exe
There is something worng in this updates.
Bye and good luck!!!

Re: HP ProLiant Smart Array Device Manager Extension Problems
Tom,
Same problem here. I applied the cp012775.exe patch on a HP DL380 G3. Vcagent wanted so I took his word for it. Now it says its installed but does not need it and vcagent still says he needs it.
Hopefully a fix comes soon. I think this is just a nuisance. I don't like deploying servers with errors.

Re: HP ProLiant Smart Array Device Manager Extension Problems
Same here, HP Version Control Agent reports Yellow status rather than "All Green" because it thinks this update hasn't been applied when it's not applicable, is there anyway to edit the VC agents to ignore this particular piece of sofware?
