HP Smart Array P440ar lockup error

Hi,

Today the RAID controller (HP Smart array P440ar, V4.52) failed for a DL380 G9 server with the following error

"1719-Slot 0 Drive Array - A controller failure event occurred prior to this power-up. (Previous lock up code = 0x13)"

I have upgraded the firmware now to 5.04.

I'd ilke to know if this is a known problem for P440ar with V4.52 or I've just encountered a bad controller that I need to replace ?

Re: HP Smart Array P440ar lockup error

Hello ,

the controller failure event error may occure even with FW 5.52.

According my experience, the 5.54 does not show any further issues, but if we check under "revision history" of the FW, even 6.06 contains some lock up code fixes:

There is no need to replace the controller. Just update to the latest available version.

Thank you

Thank you for the solution, I've done the upgrade and server seems to be stable for now.
