HPE DL380 Gen 10 SPP Offline update failed
Hello,
I have a new HPE DL380 Gen10 and have attempted to update it twice with bootable SPP USB (Version 2025.01.00.00). Some components were updated successfully, but others failed, especially the RAID controller.
Here is a snapshot of the error: https://ibb.co/3mYHRrb2
What is the solution for this? For the first two errors, there is nothing in the "View Log"тАФit simply shows "failed to flash." However, for the third error, there is a long text output: https://ibb.co/F4hP0QJM.
I also tried updating via the Java console from iLO, but it requires a license, which I donтАЩt have at the moment.
IтАЩm considering installing a Linux hypervisor (Proxmox) and trying the Online Mode update. Could this method resolve the issue?
Are there any other way that i can try ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: HPE DL380 Gen 10 SPP Offline update failed
Hi @ENG-ab
As a workaround, attempt to retry the SPP/SSP bundle update.
To resolve this issue, update to iLO 5 firmware v3.01 (or later) as follows:
Patch bundle for Gen10 SPP 2023.09.00.00
OR
Gen10 Service Pack for ProLiant
OR
Perform the following steps:
Click the following link: http://www.hpe.com/support/ilo5
- The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product. From the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" expandable filter menus on the left side of the page:
- For further filtering if needed - Select the specific Operating System from the Operating Environment.
- Locate and select the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 v3.01 firmware.
- click the Revision History tab to locate the latest version.
- For more important information, review the Release Notes tab.
- Click the Download button.
For more information, please refer to this advisory.
Regards,
Greeshma

Re: HPE DL380 Gen 10 SPP Offline update failed
Hello,
For SPP failure, please see if the image may be downloaded again and used as there is a possibility of the download being corrupt.
Also the HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 SW RAID in the server is supported only on Windows and not on Linux. Ensure that an appropriate array controller is installed and its driver is downloaded and used while installing the operating system.
