HPE MR Storage Administrator; installing silently on Windows as System
Hi
I am trying to install cp057857.exe silently with SCCM.
1) The silent installation works well, if I am logged on interactively as an administrator.
2) I want to install cp057857.exe with SCCM. SCCM uses System account. The installation stops with error 27555 as System.
Further tests:
- I extracted cp057857.exe. Then I installed the software with setup.exe. The installation didn't work as System again.
- Later I installed with LSA.msi. The installation didn't work as System again.
Does somebody know something?
Marcel

Re: HPE MR Storage Administrator; installing silently on Windows as System
Hi Marcel,
Are you trying to install on the server in which the MRSA software and its driver is installed. Then, please uninstall the existing and reinstall the newer version. You can get the LSI in programs list to uninstall.
Please refer the instructions provided in this page.
The other way is you can also try by using SPP. You can download SPP from this link and refer this video for deployment.

Shiva_JR

Re: HPE MR Storage Administrator; installing silently on Windows as System
@shiva_jr Hi Shiva_JR
Thank you.
I am using the following hardware:
- HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11
- There is a HPE MR216i-p built into the server
I installed HPE SPP 2023..10 for Gen11 servers. I started HPE SPP with SCCM (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager). That means the installation is startet with the System account. Almost everything worked well. Unfortunately, cp057857.exe was not installed.
(Driver: c:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\megasas35.sys, file version: 7.724.02.00)
Later I installed cp057857.exe myself interactively. It worked. This time I used my Administrator account.
My wish: I would like to install cp057857.exe with the System account.
Regards,
Marcel

Re: HPE MR Storage Administrator; installing silently on Windows as System
Hello Shiva_JR,
If I understand correctly the SPP will install the updated package correctly? I'm not seeing that behavior when deployed from OneView. I'm experiencing failed installations from OneView to Window Server 2022 core.

Re: HPE MR Storage Administrator; installing silently on Windows as System
@shiva_jr Hello Shiva_JR,
I am using Windows Server 2022 Desktop Experience. The installation of HPE MRSA works interactively. Windows Server 2022 Desktop Experience also has a browser. I have never tried to install on Windows Server 2022 Core.
What are the alternatives?
- strocli64.exe ( It is less intuitive.)
- iLO6 (I see less data here)
I am also wondering about server monitoring. Is the data in iLO6 enough? At the moment the server is working fine. I'm happy about that
Would you do without HPE MRSA? Do you have a recommendation for me?
Marcel
