HPSUM 8.0 and Windows Terminal Services

I am trying to update the Proliant Support Pack to 8.0 on a Windows 2003 Enterprise server running Terminal Services.

Each time I try and start HPSUM, it goes to Step 3 of 3 "installing updates", and hangs.

I have successfully installed this version on several Windows 2003 servers, but never one in Terminal Services Mode.

I did not have this issue updating older versions of the Proliant Support pack that ran SmartStart.

hi robin

when you extract Proliant Support pack you will find a file .cmd extension

look for it and run it

anything else let us know

Re: HPSUM 8.0 and Windows Terminal Services

I tried running the cmd file.

It got down to "Installing Headless Server Registry Update"

Then seems to stall out.

System Event Log shows:

Product: Headless Server Registry Update -- Error 1704. An installation for HP ProLiant Integrated Management Log Viewer is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes?

It never goes any farther with the install.

Thanks.

Re: HPSUM 8.0 and Windows Terminal Services

hi

I would recommend you to reboot the server just in case there is any hp application running in background or terminate any with task manager

and do this because it seems either Headless Server Registry or integrated management log is causing an issue (I don't understand very well that message)

my idea is open .cmd file and we have to edit it delete about Headless Server Registry
check picture I added (uploaded)

if that does not work we can try deleting also entry for integrated management log
