Hi,
We recently got three new DL360 Gen10 Plus which I have installed Windows Serve 2022 on.
I just got ready to install the HyperV role on them but I get an error saying "Hyper-V cannot be installed because virtualization support is not enabled in the BIOS":
But my BIOS/UEFI settings looks like this:
What am I missing here?
I installed Windows through Intelligent Provisioning so all the right drivers etc. are installed.
I can't figure out why it's complaining about this when it clearly is enabled already.
So I just noticed that the options in BIOS are greyed out. No matter what I do I can't change them.
Even though they show as Enabled it seems to be disabled.
I just checked on the host and it says that Virtualization is disabled as well..
Solved! Go to Solution.

Re: HyperV role complain about virtualization not being enabled but it is.
Hi Patric,
I assume workload profile applied might have disabled the virtualization option, please check the below URL about workload profile and switch over to either Virtualization - Power Efficient or Virtualization - Max Performance workload profile.
To Select:
From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration> BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU)> Workload Profile
Refer Document on Workload Profiles URL: UEFI Workload-based Profiles and Tuning Guide for HPE Servers
I hope this will resolve the issue
Thanks
I work at HPE

SolutionThanks for the reply. I already had it set to Virtualization - Max Performance from the beginning. I also tried switching to other profiles but the options are still greyed out.
I just tried to reset to default and then the options are not greyed out anymore. I tried switched to Virtualization - Max Performance and now it works. So I'm guessing there was some setting I made at first that messed this up.

Re: HyperV role complain about virtualization not being enabled but it is.
Weird, I had to do the same thing, reset BIOS to Defaults and my HyperV wasn't greyed out anymore.
And Window Hyper V Server Started OK.
Thanks for your follow up and fix!

Re: HyperV role complain about virtualization not being enabled but it is.
Just wanted to follow up with another thanks.
Different ProLiant in my case, a ProLiant MicroServer Gen 10 Plus V2.
Had to default the BIOS, then select the 'Virtualisation - Max Performance' profile. The virtualization options were still greyed out but after doing this, it was available to Windows.
Many thanks !

Re: HyperV role complain about virtualization not being enabled but it is.
Hello,
I had the same issue with HPE proliant DL360 GEN 11. I had to disable Intel TXT support in the Intel security option.
after that all is working.
Regards,
Rohit
