Identifying and updating Firmware

This might be in the wrong location. If it is please help to understand where it should go.

I have experience working with Windows, AS400, VAXs and have a little exposure to Lunix based OS.

I have recently purchased an HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10. Product No. 873830-S01 with no disks. I added disks.

I am using the machine to learn more about the environment. I want to use it as a VM server to spin up different environments break them and try again.

I am starting with a Debian 5.10.158-2 (2022-12-13).

There are different terms used here that I need to understand them.

My first challenge is to identify the current firmware version of the hardware, identify which ones need to be updated, and then update the firmware on the server.

How do I flash the ROM or do I do it with the operating system

I am lost on how I do so?

I will also be looking for guidance on creating the VM server.

Re: Identifying and updating Firmware

Hi,

I will be able to help you regarding the product documentation and drivers.

Please go here for manuals and drivers for this product.

Please go here for OS matrix.

To identify the firmware version, you can check during POST or if the server has iLO access, please login and check for various hardware's.

Access the Marvell BIOS and Storage utility to find the device firmware versions.

You can download the latest firmware from HPE Support Center.
