ilo amp : Resolution: Establish as session before attempting any operations. .

My firmware upgrades are failing with the following error - i think its a sut error but I am not sure.

iLO Repository Online Update job failed because iLO Repository Online Update Task Timed Out. iLO Response Message: There is no valid session established with the implementation. Resolution: Establish as session before attempting any operations. .

I watch the status update on the job status and it gets hung during cp039215.exe  install.

When I run a sut status from the servers i see the following.  I suspect it is related but I dont know what is going on or how to fix it.

Re: ilo amp : Resolution: Establish as session before attempting any operations. .

Hi,

Please share the below :

1) ILO Amplifier version (if you are using)

2) ILO Firmware version of affected Servers

> We see that the file : cp039215.exe is for Array Controller - try skiping this during the update.

Also try below :

> Check iLO connectivity for any network issues.

> Verify if the iLO Credentials are valid. Ensure that there is a sessionavailable in iLO for iLO Amplifier to connect.

> Clear iLO Repository, and retry the task again.

> Upgrade to iLO 5 v1.37 or above and retry - if its lower than the version mentioned

Thank you

Re: ilo amp : Resolution: Establish as session before attempting any operations. .

I am not able to remove the repo

Remove All Components

There are no components to remove. All components are locked because they are in use by an install set or part of a task in the installation queue.

Re: ilo amp : Resolution: Establish as session before attempting any operations. .

Hi,

Few components may require Server reboot to complete the update.

If a component in a previously queued task is waiting to start or finish, a new queued component might be delayed indefinitely. For example, if a queued update must wait until the UEFI BIOS detects it during server POST, but the server is not restarted, then the updates that follow in the queue will not be installed.

In cases where an online update requires a reboot, the Integrated Smart Update Tools (iSUT) waits for the reboot to complete. After iSUT is able to detect that the system is successfully rebooted, it marks the online update as completed.

Based on this, OneView or iLO Amplifier Pack marks the update as completed in the respective user interface

Clear the iLO Task Queue entries using the iLO GUI after confirming all the components are updated.
