iLO Storage Alarm - Cache Module Status Failed
I am showing an alarm in the iLO of my ProLiant DL360p Gen8 of a Storage alarm of Cache Module Status = Failed on the Controller on System Board. How do I correct this?

Re: iLO Storage Alarm - Cache Module Status Failed
I don't have a Gen8 server to reference but you should be able to browse around in ILO to get more information. Look for "power" information and see what your cache, or "smart storage battery" status is. Chances are that your battery is dead and needs to be changed. Sometimes it can be firmware causing a false positive so the general recommendation is to update (at minimum) your ILO, BIOS, and Storage Controller firmwares to the latest and see if the problem still persists. If so, and the system is under warranty, then call in a support ticket and they should be able to dispatch a tech with a battery. If your battery is listed as good, but cache module still failed, then the cache module itself could somehow be bad and need to be replaced. Again, update firmware and call support. If no support then you'll need to order the appropriate part if the firmware updates don't fix it.
I work for HPE. The comments in this post are my own and do not represent an official reply from the company. No warranty or guarantees of any kind are expressed in my reply.

Re: iLO Storage Alarm - Cache Module Status Failed
Hi.
than you for the reply.
Your answer looks like most interesting from others i read before.
I have pretty similar problem.
I have on iLO log the following
Cache Module Status - Degraded
Smart Storage Battery Status - Degraded
(POST Error: 313-HPE Smart Storage Battery 1 Failure - Battery Shutdown Event Code: 0x0400. Action: Restart system. Contact HPE support if condition persists.)
so as i suppose these two problems occured same time. but this is only my assuming.
I found in this article https://community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/Cache-Module-Status-failed/td-p/6925472
where looks like similar problem and where propose to order and change battery modul for Smart Array. But i have model Smart Array P440ar (iLO 4 ProLiant DL380 Gen9)
So and here is a question - this is for sure my problem as well related to this Smart Array or i need to try contact with HP Support first? But i afraid that i don't warranty anymore.
if i need change batter modul, how better to find exact battery model for my controller?
Thank you in advance!
