ilo6 java console

Does anyone know why HPE removed the java console from iLO6?  I hate the html5 console!  So, many extra characters per keystroke, slow, can't exit the browser window, etc.

Hello @bradawk1,

Thank you for your post.

Yes, HPE removed the Java-based remote console from iLO 6
You can access the following integrated remote console options from the iLO web interface:

HTML5 integrated remote console
NET integrated remote console

Re: ilo6 java console

Yes, I can pull up the HTML5 console, but it sucks!  It is:

  1. slow
  2. Often puts in multiple characters for a single key stroke.
  3. Difficult to hit Alt-F2 to go to a secondary window during kickstart.  It takes several attempts.  With the java console, you just use the mouse to select Alt-F2.
  4. The console is limited to the browser frame.  If you open a console from two different servers in different tabs, the non-active tab always crashes.
  5. With the java console, I was able to open 10-12 consoles and have them cascaded across the screen watching the kickstart process.  Can't do that with the HTML5 console.

It would be great if HPE could fix these problems.
