Instalation Centos 7.0 in HP Proliant DL380 without sucess
Hi,
I´m new with CentOS and I want to install it in a Server. I have downloaded the ISO image and save it as an installation DVD, but every time I try to install it, after I select on the first menu "Install CentOS 7" or "Test this media & install CentOS 7" I have a black screen and DVD stops reading.
I tried install on two different servers:
1st HP Proliant DL380
Intel Xeon CPU 2,8 GHz Dual processor
System Type 32 Bits Operating System
Memory 4 Gb
2nd HP Proliant DL380
Intel Xeon CPU 2,8 GHz Dual processor
System Type 32 Bits Operating System
Memory 6 Gb
I´d really appreciate your help.
Best regards,
Fernando

Those appear to be really old DL380 units. CentOS 7 will only work on 64bit capable systems

Re: Instalation Centos 7.0 in HP Proliant DL380 without sucess
Hi.
I've experianced a similar problem when installing a diffrent kind of distribution of linux. I would try installing in textmode instead of graphical mode. I had the same symptom, the screen goes black and nothing happens, but when I chose textmode instead i could install the server, has something to do with the graphicaldrivers.
I couldn't find any links for centos 7 but here's one for centos 6.5 it should be similar

Re: Instalation Centos 7.0 in HP Proliant DL380 without sucess
Hi Cederberg,
thanks for your reply. I tested it and I have this message:
"This Kernel required an X86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU.
This processor is unsupported in RHEL7."
Do you know what CentOS can I install?
Best regards,
Fernando

Thanks Jimmy, for your quick answer. I will try i386 version of CentOS 6.6.
I discover this link https://mediaarea.net/nn/MediaInfo/Download/CentOS that refers CPU i686 for CentOS 6.6. Let's see...
