Installation HAL.DLL failure

Using SmartStart 4.90 and ran manual install, because installing DOS and NT4 Terminal Server. Smartstart created system partition. Restored a ghost image of DOS and NTFS partitions off of a working dual processor 3000. Got a error during system initiation = HAL: MP_PTR Invalid Checksum; HAL: MPS MP structure not found; HAL: No MPS table found. I believe there is a modification I need to make to System Configuration, I seem to remember F10 and resetting a APIC (or something close) entry. Can you help?

Re: Installation HAL.DLL failure

In Advanced mode system configuration utility - under the processor, you'll see the apic mode - set it to full table or full table mapped. Be aware that the image you're using could be part of the problem also. you may want to try a normal installation.
