Installing Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or Ubuntu Server on Proliant XL420 Gen 9

Hello,

I am struglying to install ubuntu on XL420 gen 9. This server is configured with "smart storage" plus two ssds RAID 0 and will only boot if Ubuntu is installed on the 60Tb "smart storage". I installed ubuntu via flash drive. When booting it does not see the /boot/efi well it is not even there after installation. I have tried to install Ubuntu on all the drives (sda, sdb, sdc), I have tried automated partitioning, manual particioning, reinstall grub, etc etc and ever tried to replace the ssd drives, still it does not boot. Why does it have to be so complicated to install a OS or HPE? Why there are no instructions on HPE on how to install Ubuntu?

Hello there, according to HPE's Canonical Ubuntu Support and Certification Matrix:

https://techlibrary.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/supportmatrix/ubuntu.aspx

It seems that Ubuntu is only supported on XL Gen10 Models.
