Integrated SCSI adapter and Smart Array 641

Hello, I'm working with HP ProLiant ML350 G3
server (integrated dual-channel SCSI adapter Ultra3 and Smart Array 641 PCI-X controller in PCI slot.
Problem: I've 3 hard disk drives and one tape drive (for LVD(low-voltage) SCSI bus).
LVD SCSI port is only on Smart Array controller, and its only one SCSI port on it. There'├Е e two SCSI ports on motherboard, i need to connect tape drive, and make RAID system on those 3 HDD. Is one of those two SCSI ports on motherboard - low-voltage? Or can I build RAID system based on integrated SCSI Ultra3 adapte

Re: Integrated SCSI adapter and Smart Array 641

Hi Oleg,
You might want to consider changing your SA641 to SA642 which has two channels. One internal and one External. The onboard SCSI ports are not LVD.

Thank you for answer. And I have one more question. Can i build normal, good RAID system based on integrated SCSI adapter, cause in specification written that it is based on Smart Array 532 or Smart Array 641( is it true?)?

Re: Integrated SCSI adapter and Smart Array 641

Hello Oleg,
Yes on SA641 you can configure Raid 5. You can install maximum 6 internal HDDs to SA641 controller.
