Intermittent System Reboots - NMI (Intermodal Bus Error)
Hello,
I have an Array controller (5304), and a couple LVD SCSI controllers (supporting a relatively new tape Lib.).
Since a couple nights ago, we've experienced intermittently (but frequent), system reboots with NMI (Intermodal Bus Error), error code 0X0, event error msg. 4223. Our firmware and compaq drivers are mostly up to date.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks! Lynn

Re: Intermittent System Reboots - NMI (Intermodal Bus Error)
HI, regarding your reboot you might want to upgrade to the latest system rom and if the error still occur you could call in tech support and ask to research the problem for the error code notice in you event viewer: which is 4223. Hope this will help.

Re: Intermittent System Reboots - NMI (Intermodal Bus Error)
Dear Lynn,
i had the same error message and about 3 system reboots per day.
Because we have several other ML570 without these problems, we
couldn't explain this behaviour.
There are some messages because of problems with NMI's in the last 2
BIOS updates.
At first i thought the problem might be the old firmware of 2001, so i updated it to
the version of April02.
But the problems were always the same.
After i've contacted the compaq support (Germany), they've told me that this is a
severe error of the mainboard. After the technician changed the mainboard, all
seems to be fine. Now there are several days gone and the error seems to
be gone, too.
Perhaps you should change your mainboard too, if it is within the 3 years warranty.
Regards Rainer
