IP only will not allow access

After installing windows 2000 server on a domain with a proliant
ml530 as the domain server I am unable to access the proliant 6000
from a IP on client. I can see the server with network neighborhood
but get error message "Server not accessable. Computer or sharename could not be found" when I click on it. Find computer
is not able to find the server. The same pc with the same user name
login but with IPX support installed works fine.
