iSCSI boot Proliant gen10 using Software Initiator an linux target
Hi All,
Has anyone tested booting Proliant ML or DL Gen9 or Gen10 server from linux iSCSI target using Software Initiator? With no iSCSI dedicated NICs. ex. P11051?
I'm stuck at UEFI initialization with IML entry:
[UNKNOWN] 69 iSCSI Error - iSCSI login failed.
And target logs:
Oct 26 16:00:31 XXX tgtd: login_start(499) Target iqn.2015-10.com.XXX is RDMA, but conn cid:1 from iqn.2015-02.com.hpe:uefi-XXX is TCP
Oct 26 16:00:31 XXX tgtd: conn_close(101) connection closed, 0x1e9b208 1

May I know the server model number and which network adapter you are using to establish ISCSI connectivity?

Re: iSCSI boot Proliant gen10 using Software Initiator an linux target
ProLiant DL380 Gen10 868703-B21 + HPE 10GbE 2p FLR-SFP+ X710 Adptr 727054-B21.
I know, it's not in the compatibility matrix on SPOCK.

Re: iSCSI boot Proliant gen10 using Software Initiator an linux target
Based on HPE Ethernet 10Gb SFP+ Adapters quickspecs, ISCSI feature is not available on HPE Ethernet 10Gb 2-port FLR-SFP+ X710-DA2 Adapter (727054-B21).
Please refer HPE Ethernet 10Gb SFP+ Adapters quickspecs (Page Number 5) for more information.

Re: iSCSI boot Proliant gen10 using Software Initiator an linux target
OK, but that was not the question.
The other question is why software initiator confguration allows configuration od incompatible NICs in RBSU?

Have you checked by updating NIC driver and firmware to latest.
Also may I know the OS version installed on this server.
