Jet Direct Configuration\Server Locking up

My NT Server keeps locking up when I try to Configure Jet Directs. I have installed three but when the Server is rebooted and I try to access the printers they they show failed to open retry.

Are these external JetDirect boxes or cards in printers? What firmware and software level is involved? Have you talked with HP at all yet?
