Memory Problem

I'm using ProLiant 8000 server. This message appear 'The Compaq System Management Driver has determined that memory module #15 in slot #1 has exceeded its threshold of correctable errors. Subsequent correctable memory errors will continue to be corrected, but memory error reporting will cease until the system is rebooted.'.I try to change the memory module(RAM) but the same message appear.Anybody ever have encountered same problem?

Re: Memory Problem

You may be able to correct the error by replacing both DIMMs in Bank 8.
If that does not solve the error, if could be the Memory Board itself.

Re: Memory Problem

How much downtime can this server get?

You could run it through a full burn-in diagnostics test either with SmartStart CD or System Inspect Diskette:

If the CRC / ECC errors show up during the offline diagnostics, you can be sure it is hardware.
Enjoy!
