Had case open with HPE Support for over a month. Have had a repalcement systemboard nad CPU and a new Microserver.
Wanted to start this thread.
On a new updated Microserver with latest BIOS,iLO & other firmwares I can flash from iLO. I cannot even get to the first GUI OS load screen to even agree or select install of Windows 2025 Server. This is BEFORE you get to laod the VROC driver to select the RAID Logical Disk to install to.
This is with BIOS defaults or custom.
The BIOS requirement is switching the SATA to VROC and building a RAID1 /10 for OS install.
OS installs perfectly fine using SATA mode. Using the same ISO via & USB ISO imaged install.
This is using the following Windows 2025 Server ISO from Office 365 /Microsoft admin.microsoft.com under the Billing-> Your Products -Windows Server 2025 Standard - 16 Core License Pack
ISO default file name: 26100.1742.240906-0331.ge_release_svc_refresh_SERVER_VOL_x64FRE_en-us.iso
ISO disk label : SSS_X64FREV_EN-US_DV9
ISO MD5: 25bae857ff6ffbaef6604bfdd31d3027
My next steps are to slip stream Windows Update into the boot.wim and install.wim.
Any other thoughts on this would be get.
I also have tried sourcing other trusted MS ISO downloads (even eval) but all are same ISO build number.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Re: Microserver Gen11 - Intel VROC RAID1 Windows Server 2025 OS install issue (NOT VROC Dr
Dear mr_vaughn
VROC SATA controller driver is not intigrated with Windows Server OS. that is why during OS installation it wants for driver. When you start installation with only SATA mode it didnot asking for contorller driver.
Please go through the link for HPE microserver gen11 user guide.
Please go through the link for VROC SATA Driver.
Hope, I could provide you with clear and helpful instructions. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask. I'm here to help!
Have a great day!!
Thanks & Regards...

rabindra11sharm Please read my post again.
Since this is even BEFORE you load the VROC driver (F6) and mount the volumes..
You know when you 1st boot any Windows ISO... You have a few screens like language, license agreement, etc before you can even select the volume to install. That 1st GUI screen where it hangs.

SolutionHere is the Solution.
You have to merge the latest Windows Updates into the ISO installer.
Apparently there is a know issue resolved with MS Nov 2024 update
You have to update/slipstream with Windows udpate into the install.wim & the boot.wim using DISM
There are sites out there that have all the latest updates merged into a downloadable ISO but are a bit dodgy.
