Missing processors with Windows server 2003
Has anyone else had this problem. When I installed the os on an old Proliant 6000 with 4 400mhz pent II processors I am onle able to use 1. I found an post on Technet about 2003 not being able to access pent pro and pent. II processors:

My question is I also have a prolaint 7000 with 2 pentium III processors at 500MHZ. Once again only one of the processors is showing up. I can't find any documentation about them not being able to run multiple processors of this version. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Missing processors with Windows server 2003
What is the release date of the bios on these machines?
For the PL 6000 the "newest" available is from 12/27/99.

Have you configured the right type of OS in the System configuration utility. (Even for an upgrade from NT4 to W2K it has to be changed).
Please have look at:

Yes, both servers have the latest bios and support options installed.

Re: Missing processors with Windows server 2003
Yes, but which OS setting has been used in the system configuration utility (F10 at boot)?
What says winmsd about the processors.
Which HAL is currently in use (see device manager)?
