Re: ML110 G6 raid-functions
hmm look at this it has sata but no raid option unless you get Smart Array P212 Controller
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13477_na/13477_na.pdf
Step 3: Choose Additional Factory Integratable Options (only one unless otherwise noted)
HP Storage Controllers SAS Controller
NOTE: Support for SAS hard drives/tape drive requires selection of a SAS controller.
NOTE: Support for RAID levels requires selection of a SAS controller.
Smart Array P212 Controller
HP P212/256 MB Smart Array Controller FIO Kit
SAS Controllers
.
NOTE: Support for any RAID level requires selection of a SAS controller.

Re: ML110 G6 raid-functions
However this seems to do nothing at all.
What kind of SATA controller do you suggest creating a raid-1 + spare disk in this server?
Regards,
Robert

Re: ML110 G6 raid-functions
any of the controllers from this sata list feks p212 controller as it supports both sas and sata incse you ever want to swap over to sas disks
attention make sure the dealer gives you the connection cable too from the controller to the disk

Re: ML110 G6 raid-functions
I had the same exact issue with my ML110 G6 and after updating the BIOS (on a USB flash key), it then had a spot on POST to setup your RAID0 or RAID 1+0.

Re: ML110 G6 raid-functions
Just another thing, you have to enter BIOS Setup and configure Hard disk mode as Array so the Smart Array config option appears during post.

Re: ML110 G6 raid-functions
We use the Update 2010.01.26 (A)
which released on 3 March 2010.
After the BIOS Update the Array Configuration Tool was prompt on boot up.

Re: ML110 G6 raid-functions
It works just fine, no need for an additional RAID card.
