ML150 cpu support

This maybe a silly question, but does anyone know if the ML150 accepts dual-core CPUs?

Re: ML150 cpu support

Hi Chongkan,

I've seen the specs, but new procs have been release since then. I've read that the E7320 chip can support the dual core, but I'm uncertain if HP does this. For Example http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon800/E7320/X6DVA-EG2.cfm, this motherboard is similar to the ML150.

Thanks for the reply

Re: ML150 cpu support

Hi, Feng

The ML150 G1 can only handle:

Intel Xeon processor 2.4/2.66/2.8/3.06GHz, 533 MHz Front Side Bus

and the ML150 G2 can take one of the following:

Intel Xeon Processor 3.2 GHz / 800 MHz FSB, 2-MB L2 cache
Intel Xeon Processor 3.0 GHz / 800 MHz FSB, 2-MB L2 cache
Intel Xeon Processor 2.8 GHz / 800 MHz FSB, 2-MB L2
Intel Xeon Processor 3.2 GHz / 800 MHz FSB, 1-MB L2 cache
Intel Xeon Processor 3.0 GHz / 800 MHz FSB, 1-MB L2 cache
Intel Xeon Processor 2.8 GHz / 800 MHz FSB, 1-MB L2 cache

Use only processor upgrade kits with the same HP product number. This ensures the processor type, clock speed, and cache size are the same.

Always update firmware before adding a new processor, any other similar processor may work but is not supported by HP.

Regards.
