ML350 Smart Array E200i The cache is temporarily disabled
Customer had array accelerator battery charge low.
They replaced the battery with part no. 247779-001 from HP.
Over a week later they still have the error in logs and the message still says "The cache is temporarily disabled".

Re: ML350 Smart Array E200i The cache is temporarily disabled
hi,
Please be sure that you are running the latest controller FW.
Please clear the ilo event log and set the error as "repaired".
Thanks
regards,

Thanks for reply.
I've change them to 'repair', just waiting for customer to confirm iLO ip/username/password to clear logs.

No change so far, will leave a few days and get customer to reboot.

Re: ML350 Smart Array E200i The cache is temporarily disabled
hi,
If the issue remains after the reboot, you will need to replace the cahce module of the controller. The best solution is to replace the the both parts at once ( cache+battery).
Thanks
regards,

Re: ML350 Smart Array E200i The cache is temporarily disabled
Actually cache+battery should be replaced at once as the old revisions from cache modules are not coming clear with the newest revisions of the batterys. this means that the battery will be charged and after some weeks the same error will occure again. thats why cache and battery replacement at once and the issue should be solved. if the issue occures after the replacement then maybe you can think about controller replacement(if fw uptodate and cache+battery replaced already s needed).

Re: ML350 Smart Array E200i The cache is temporarily disabled
Hello,
first of all, the spare part that you are using as said: "hey replaced the battery with part no. 247779-001 from HP" is not correct
The right spare Part battery for the E200i is the "307132-001"
If you Have the error message: "array accelerator battery charge low"
It's always better to:
1-Upgrade the controller's firmware
2-change the Cache + the battery on one shot
Battery Spare: 307132-001
cache Spare : 413486-001
I work for HP
