We want to add a second sas controller to one of two ML370G5 servers we have. We temporarly installed the p400 controller from one server as second controller to other with success. In their stickers we can find the same numbers ( SP#:441823-001, DG#:013160-000, AS#:013159-002, REV: 0D) and of course different serial numbers.
We have tried two second hand P400 controllers the first with different SP and REV number and the second with only difference in REV number with no luck (runtime led's are all off, card doesn't show up in bios pci devices list). Any help will be appreciated....

Are those verified that they are operational? Where did they come from?

Re: ML370 p400 second sas controller
They have been bought from ebay, items listed as in working condition. Should they work with the described characteristics ?

Re: ML370 p400 second sas controller
If the cards show no signs of life, there isn't much you can do. Ensure that they are inserted firmly and correctly in the PCI slots. Does the server boot up with the card in it? Do you have ADU to check for the card. Although if the cards don't show up in the BIOS or the OS hardware list, I doudt ADU would find them.
One other thing to try is the following. Power off the server and remove the cards. *FIRST* disconnect the batterry and *THEN* remove the cache module. Then try the cards again in the server.
If nothing wakes them up, check back with your ebay seller and ask for more information on the cards.
