ML370 with smart array 221
Hello, pls help me with this problem.
i have a compaq ML370. i've just convert it to a rackmount and alsoinstalled a smart array 221. During bootup there is an error says 1785 Compaq Smart Array Dected and needs to be configured.
so i tried to boot from the smartstart cd ver4.90 and it just hangs there! the next step is i create an Array Configuration Utility diskette and runs it... it says error 15001 ACU could not detect any array controllers. What could be wrong? i've even tried changing slots but still won't work. i've tried flashing both the server and the array's firmware to the latest. i have 2 ml370 servers both having the same problem. at first i though the card might be faulty but then i've tried it on another compaq server model and it works... by using the smartstart cd. Pls help me thank You.

Re: ML370 with smart array 221
My suggestion would be the old KISS theory--keep it simple, steve...I would remove the 221 (and any extra nics, rib boards, etc)...Does it boot to the CD now? If so, I'd make an erase diskette and erase the system before you reinstall the 221. Now try reinstalling the 221, and try to boot with it installed.
