ML570 - 0x7b and strange behavior.

I have an ML570 running Win2K and SQL2K, RAID5 across 4x18GB HDD's, nothing has been changed in 2 years. No Windows or SQL updates, no driver updates and no hardware changes (Don't fix what isn't broken). 3 weeks ago it started freezing up overnight (no mouse or keyboard) requiring forced shutdown. Event log shows disk error intermitantly. Last week we started getting a BSOD 0x7b and CHKDSK runs and finds corrupted files (sometimes registry). I've restored the registry, which seems to work for a few hours and then it crashes and the cycle starts over. Compaq agents show no hardware errors, Norton Antivirus shows clean, this issue is getting worse and I'm getting grayer! I'm leaning towards hardware - SCSI card droping data. Any ideas?

Hi Patrick,
I would suggest the ADU (the array diagnostic utility), that will also check your drives. Since you get intermittent disk error that might be it? There is always the drive firware and the array controller firware update but like you said no driver or software update was done on you box. (sp19848) for the ADU: http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/index.html
