Motherboard upgrade possible?
I have a DL380 g8 server and I'm wondering if it is possible to swap the board from one from a gen 9 or 10. I know most people would say buy a new one but it's for my home and for me it would be easier to just buy one and swap it. The form factor looks similar from pics I've seen but I don't know if I'm going to run into problems. Also I do realize I would need a cpu and ram.
Thanks

Re: Motherboard upgrade possible?
Everything around is dofferent too - controllers, power supply fans, disk bays, etc.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Motherboard upgrade possible?
Hello CanadianMe,
Thank you for posting your query.
I would not suggest you to swap a Board from Gen9/Gen10 on a Gen8 server.
In Gen9 and Gen10, the controllers, Power supplies, Drives bays, DIMM Modules everything is different.
Here are the quickspecs/maintenance guide for your reference -
Gen8 -

Gen10 -
