My hp proliant 380p g8 not recognize my 10 tb sas drive
I've been doing a fair bit of reading on the matter but have hit a few road blocks on the way. To summarize what I'm working with:
*Out of warranty DL380p G8 LFF (12 Bay) with P420i 2Gb cache.
*6 x 3TB HGST Raid 5 Array - Has been working for 2 years now without a hitch.
*VMWare Vsphere 6.5.
*Updated P420i firmware to newest 8.32.
*iLO4 updated to 2.61.
When i put my 10tb sas drive only blink few second and when turn off
And on smart array not detect it.
What should i do????

Re: My hp proliant 380p g8 not recognize my 10 tb sas drive
Or you could fit an alternative HBA / RAID adapter that doesn't suffer from the 8TB limit of the P420.
Most LSI cards seem to work fine in my experience - it's worth remembering, not being on the official support list doesn't mean it won't work - but YMMV and the card itself may have it's own limitations, check the specs!
