Network Interface Card
Hi, I'm from the UK and have the following question:
On my system event logs I get the following message every 2 minutes:
"Component: Compaq NIC Agent Error. Unable to open the registry subkey "CPQNIC\Ethernet\Statistics". Cause: This error can be caused by a corrupt registry or a low memory condition. Rebooting the server may correct this error."
The server has been rebooted many times and this message has been present for some months. There is also plenty of memory available. I've been told that it requires an update to the Compaq Insight Agent. Is this true?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Rohini

Re: Network Interface Card
Hi, also from uk, upgrading the SSD's would be my first port of call, use your the smart start cd you got with the server failing that you may wish to remove the NIC from the system and re-install it with an updated driver.

Re: Network Interface Card
uninstall All the management agents. reinstall them. Just reinstalling over the top doesn't seem to work.
If you have a look in c:\cpqsystem at the log you will probably find an error about unable to copy a couple of files. I'm not sure what causes it, but Ive had to fix some on the servers built by the previous admin team at the place I now work. This fix has worked on 4 boxes so far for me.
