New Proliant DL360 gen10 only boots to windows in legacy mode cd boot
strangest thing. i've done a lot of proliant server installs. this is a new server getting windows server 2019 OS from a physical media cd microsoft sent using an external cd drive.
4 hard drives, two raid 1 arrays. one for the OS & the other for a data drive.
the intelligent provisioning wouldn't recognize the external, so i did a one time legacy boot and then boot from the cd drive. picked to install on the drive 0 like normal. installs as it should. but after the automatic reboot at the end of the windows installation it can't find an OS and ends up trying to network boot. i made sure the array that got the windows install is selected first in uefi boot, but still nothing.
the only way i have found i can actually get into the OS is to do the one time legacy boot, and then pick the external cd drive with the installation media in it again. if i do that it doesnt' take me to the installer, but rather takes me right into the OS logon and i can use the server as i should.
to be sure, i deleted the arrays, reset the server to factory defaults, and did it all again with the same result.
any suggestions on how i may be able to boot to the OS like i should? i've spent 8-10 hours googling and looking on youtube but nothing seemed relevant or was able to fix it. thank you.

Re: New Proliant DL360 gen10 only boots to windows in legacy mode cd boot
Hi,
>>I would suggest to reboot the server and press F10 during POST to go to Intelligent provisioning and then go to smart storage administrator,
>>Select the controller in the SSA >>configure>> then go to set boot logical drive/volume configuration, set primary boot logical volume correctly, save the settings and reboot the server .And try to boot to the OS .
>>If issue persist, try to re install the OS by mounting the Operating system image via ILO virtual media and then reboot the server .Press F11 during POST and then select ILO virtual media to boot and continue the OS installation.
>>Reboot the server once completed the OS installation and verify the working functionality
