Hi, my hpe proliant dl160 gen 10 does not detect SAS 872481-B21, Hewlett Packard Enterprise 1.8TB 2.5 12G SAS 2.5 1800 GB, though it said that it is a compatible storage for this server.
The status messages said : There are no configurable physical drives attached to the current controller.
It uses : HPE Smart Storage S100i SR Gen10
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi,
the reason is, that the S100i only supports SATA Drives.
HPE Smart Array S100i Software RAID
And your Drive is a SAS.
Yes, it is compatible with the Server, but not with this Type of Controller.
You have to use an E208, P408., ... Raid Kontroller to connect the Drive.
The S100i is only a Software-Based Controller with limited function.
I personally would change the Disk to a SATA SSD.
Sorry, Cali

SolutionOnly SATA drives are supported with Embedded S100i controller.
Server quickspecs
Storage Controller Embedded 14-port S100i Notes: SATA only.

However you can use addon controllers (e.g. P408i-a or p or e208i-a or p) and configure SAS drives.

Sudhir
