No OS Found
Im having a problem booting up the server.
I tried to install the 2nd drive for raid on the server. I enabled it in the bios...but i didnt do any settings yet.
Now it boots (WSBS) a bit, but then resets again after a blue screen.
So, I turned raid back off in the bios, just like it used to be. but now it cant find the OS.
The disk is fine, coz it booted on an other system.
Any tips?
Thanks,
P.

Re: No OS Found
well model would be great...
and also check POST to know which controller but I will guess it is a embedded SATA since you went to BIOS and enabled it
------------
that procedure it is not only enable that you need first to install the driver for your controller, reboot , enable SATA, hit F8 during POST and rebuild RAID, I mean going from RAID 0 to RAID 1 and continue

Re: No OS Found
So i need to install the driver in the OS first, then enable SATA and rebuild the raid?
OK. but i just cant seem to boot anymore when i disable rate and put everything as it was.
Seems so weird to me really.

Re: No OS Found
this is the procedure
1. Install the OS with Embedded SATA RAID Disabled (No Drivers or F6 required) on one Harddrive.
2. Once OS is installed, Extract the Embedded SATA RAID Drivers to a folder. HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller Driver for Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003:
I would link the driver but since you have not provided the server model I can not link the driver I suppose you have it....
3. Go to Control Panel-> Add New Hardware->Device is connected->New Hardware->Raid Controller->Have Disk->Browse to the folder where the Embedded SATA RAID Drivers were extracted. Select the .inf file->Install Adaptec Raid Driver .
4.Restart the Server go to BIOS enable the Embedded SATA RAID .
5.Press F8 and go to Sata Raid BIOS->Configure the Drives->Create Array->Raid 0/1 A warning message will appear "Warning: Configuring the drives will erase all Array information from the selected drives, if that drive is part of an array. Arrays using any of these drives as members will be affected! Do you want to continue?(Yes/No): ". Press "Y " to continue.
6.If Raid 1 is selected it will ask you what is the Source Disk, select the Right Disk in which OS was installed previously. Warning message might appear again. Select "Y ".
7.Rebuild will take sometime, once rebuild is complete restart the server.

Its a ML110. :)
I got it running again...without the raid.
I'll set it up later.
